2019 National General Assembly Of Local Government Future Focused

The 25th National General Assembly of Local Government

This year NGA focus will be the future of local government and local communities. It will consider what Councils can do today to get ready for the challenges, opportunities and changes that lie ahead.

The conference theme this year acknowledges that change is constant - be it digital transformation, community activism, ageing demographics, population policies, planning overlays, voice recognition, artificial intelligence and even self-driving cars are just around the corner. Change is everywhere – and it is up to each and every council to understand these developments, work through the challenges, and find the best way to shape their response to their communities. The NGA this year will consider what councils can do today to get ready for the challenges, opportunities and changes that pave the path ahead.
