We are partnering with the NSW Department of Education to support you with your pathways into a career in early childhood education. Pathways include studying at a university or registered training organisation, as well as a range of supported traineeships and fee-free study options.
There are a range of incentives and professional development opportunities available to strengthen and support early childhood trainees, educators and teachers.
- Fee-free pathways for Certificate III and Diploma qualifications through the JobTrainer and Smart & Skilled programs.
- Federal government incentive of up to $5,000 paid in instalments of $1,250 every 6 months under Australian Apprentice Training Support Payment to support an Australian apprentice to complete their training at either Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Kick starting your career in Early Childhood could give you opportunities anywhere, enable you to grow into a range of employment settings.
You may start working as an early childhood educator in a long day care or community preschool or in outside school hours care (OHSC), add qualifications and experience to become an early childhood teacher, a centre leader, an area manager or a service director, move to a policy or management position with government and end up as a university lecturer inspiring the next generation. You could also lead and manage your own business as the self-employed owner of an early childhood service.
