Located 170kms north of Brisbane, the Gympie region covers 6,898 sq. km. and has a population of 50,000+ with predicted growth of up to 60,600 by 2036. The region, which is a short drive from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, offers a selection of public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as two tertiary institutions and a range of first-class infrastructure and community services.
It is also home to some of Australia's most stunning national parks, pristine beaches and a network of thriving waterways throughout the Cooloola Coast and beyond.
This is an exciting opportunity to put your mark on a vital community service by assessing the function, building the delivery team and implementing key systems, processes and continuous improvement strategies. On a day-to-day operational level, you will provide front line management and direction across a broad range of activities including Strategic Planning, Water Supply and Sewerage Systems, Asset Management and Capital and Replacement Programs.
A qualified Engineer and preferably RPEQ accredited, your extensive management background within the water/sewerage sector will have given you all the experience, expertise and ambition to direct large scale infrastructure projects while also managing the Water and Waste Water division through a period of key organisational change and transformation.
For an ambitious, focused engineering professional, this is one of the most exciting and challenging roles in the Australian Local government sector. And of course there is the unique lifestyle that only the Gympie region can offer.
