Located 170kms north of Brisbane, the Gympie region covers 6,898 sq. km. and has a population of 50,000+ with predicted growth of up to 60,600 by 2036. The region, which is a short drive from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, offers a selection of public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as two tertiary institutions and a range of first-class infrastructure and community services.
It is also home to some of Australia's most stunning national parks, pristine beaches and a network of thriving waterways throughout the Cooloola Coast and beyond.
This is an exciting opportunity to put your mark on vital services including Building and Plumbing, Environmental Health and Regulatory Services. Providing high quality customer service with a focus on continuous improvement, you will lead a team of professional staff to manage the efficient processing of regulatory applications and certification to support the development of the regions urban, rural and natural environments.
Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Law or similar or extensive experience in a similar field. Your extensive management background within a regulatory, building, environmental or compliance environment will have given you all the experience and expertise required to lead the branch through a period of key organisational change and transformation.
For an ambitious, focused local government professional, this is an exciting and challenging role in a community-focused Council. And of course there is the unique lifestyle that only the Gympie region can offer.
