Located 170kms north of Brisbane, the Gympie region covers 6,898 sq. km. and has a population of 50,000+ with predicted growth of up to 60,600 by 2036. The region, which is a short drive from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, offers a selection of public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as two tertiary institutions and a range of first-class infrastructure and community services.
It is also home to some of Australia's most stunning national parks, pristine beaches and a network of thriving waterways throughout the Cooloola Coast and beyond.
You will have direct accountability for ensuring the highest possible level of service delivery across key community-facing functions - Civil Services, Design, Parks and Gardens and the full spectrum of infrastructure services including Roads, Water and Wastewater. The initial focus will be on refining, implementing and directing the Maintenance and Asset Management plans while also building the best possible service delivery teams.
A qualified Civil Engineer and RPEQ accredited (or eligible), you will have a track record of high achievement at executive level within Local Government engineering, infrastructure or civil roles. You will also have experience of working through complex change or organisational transformation scenarios. On a personal level, you will have a natural ability to identify talent and build collaborative, high-performing teams focused on positive outcomes.
This is an exceptional opportunity to define and build your own team, systems and processes to meet the challenge of change and continuously deliver on community expectations.
