Be at the forefront of educating CALD and disadvantaged communities about the COVID vaccine in this vital role, ensuring the success of the COVID vaccine roll out.
Are you an RN with at least 6 months experience in a community focused role working with a focus on immunisation, infection control, or COVID response work?
Are you able to work closely with clients in CALD and disadvantaged communities in the Northern suburbs, looking at educating the community members on the roll out of the COVID vaccine?
If so, we have an exciting three month, full time locum position available for you, working with diverse communities to educate and advise in a face to face role, in homes and community centres, regarding the COVID vaccine roll out. Part of this role would be looking at social factors that impact the health of the community members you are working with and linking individuals in to services that may be able to enhance their health and well being ( accommodation support, maternal and child health centres, allied health services, family services etc). You will be very comfortable with working with CALD, migrant, refugee and disadvantaged communities in a community facing role, and have a supportive multi-disciplinary team working with you, with fellow RN's for clinical guidance re: infection control, vaccine information and health referrals, and the support of social workers and well known community health organisations in the northern suburbs.
TO apply for this position, you will need to be a Registered Nurse, with at least 6 months demonstrated experience working directly with these communities and able to start ASAP, committing to at least three months, full time. with a possible extension. A full Victorian drivers licence, use of a car, a current Police check and Working with Children check is essential, as is a 2021 Flu vaccination. A second language is advantageous, but not essential.
