Inner West Council is a community of 185,000 people, comprising some of Sydney's most vibrant, creative, liveable and diverse suburbs. A new organisation structure now provides the opportunity for a forward-focussed, Group Manager Strategic Planning to play a pivotal role in Council's future plans.
As part of the Council's Leadership Group, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the key areas within your portfolio work collaboratively towards developing long-term strategic planning that helps continuously improve service delivery. This will include a specific focus on Strategic Land Use, Economic Development and Corporate Planning. You will be the key touchpoint between the Strategic Planning division and a broad range of Inner West residents and business communities.
This role will manage and provide high-level advice to the Executive team on a range of extremely complex and interesting land use planning issues, such as Westconnex, the development of Parramatta Road, and the Sydenham to Bankstown corridor.
This is a business-critical role which calls for a unique blend of extensive planning experience, community awareness and empathy, exceptional strategic thinking, and the focus to drive major change agendas within complex, multi-faceted environments. You will also have strong financial management skills and the innate ability to quickly build strong relationships and clear communication pathways.
This is a real opportunity to further develop your career with one of NSW's most progressive and forward-looking councils.
